International Baccalaureate (IB)

View IB exam 分数 course equivalencies

这个图表 represents course equivalencies awarded each International Baccalaureate (IB) exam 分数. All community and technical colleges in Washington recognize these 分数 equivalencies. Colleges may award additional credits based on local policies, when appropriate, but should not award course equivalency credit for 分数s lower than those listed in this table. 学生 interested in transferring to a four-year university should check the requirements of their target school to determine the best way to use their IB 考试学分.

Washington state community and technical colleges will award unrestricted elective credit for an International Baccalaureate (IB) 分数 of 4 on standard-level or higher-level IB考试. Credit will be awarded on the basis of official IB results, not transcript 符号. Credits granted for general education or major requirements will be specified by the receiving institution’s IB credit policies; otherwise, elective credit will 被授予.

  • WVC is not a testing site for IB and official 分数s must be submitted for evaluation.
  • 学生 must have 15 WVC transcribed credits with a 2.0 or better GPA to be eligible for academic credit for prior learning (ACPL) consideration.
  • Credits awarded are based on the type of test taken and the 分数 received.
  • A maximum of 10 IB credits can be earned in a distribution area (maximum of 5 credits in world languages). No more than 5 IB credits can be used to meet the writing skills requirement for a degree. IB credit will not fulfill the writing requirement for advanced English composition.
  • ACPL credit is limited to a maximum of 30 credits required for WVC degrees or certificates. Workforce programs, specifically, are limited to 25% of total credits for degree.
  • IB credit receives a “P” grade, will not affect the GPA and will not apply to WVC residency requirements.
  • There is no fee for this evaluation.
